Slavery and submission are not inextricably linked. One can be a submissive and not a slave - that much is obvious. But one can be a slave and not submissive - one need but remember millions of people unwillingly enslaved historically over the past five millennia of recorded history.
The third option is a submissive slave. A slave who is ALSO a submissive is something different from its component brethren. It is a slave that willingly gives their life into the hands of another, surrenders by choice to (usually) one Owner.
A submissive slave in the hands of a loving Owner can know freedom that others only dream about: liberty to be THEMSELVES.
